Learn. Create. Lead – The largest gathering of Entrepreneurs, Innovators, Educators & National Leaders in Pakistan. LCL is an initiative of Entrepreneurship Development Institute to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship across the country.
This conference provides a platform to seasoned entrepreneurs, university students, startup founders, academia, policy makers, media and government officials to come together and generate ways to strengthen the socioeconomic growth of Pakistan by nurturing the student entrepreneurs in universities.
CEO & Co-Founder, Nayatel (Pvt) Ltd.
Wahaj Siraj is the CEO and co-founder of Nayatel (Pvt) Ltd., which has installed Pakistan’s first fiber to the home (FTTH) project in Islamabad in 2006-07 to provide voice, video and high speed Internet access to business and home users. Before Nayatel’s launch, Wahaj co-founded Micronet Broadband ( Pvt) Ltd, the first one to launch broadband Digital Subscribers Line (DSL) services in Pakistan in 2002. Wahaj has vast experience in Internet and telecom industry and also worked with the Government of Pakistan at policy making level.
Wahaj is a founder member of ISPAK (Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan) and has been a strong activist for reforms in Pakistani IT and Telecom industry.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, a PhD from University of California, Riverside, USA, has amassed over 25 years of educational development and management credentials. He has also been pivotal in the development of Higher Education management policy as well as Allied Matters.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed has been the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan’s Executive Director since the 1st February, 2013 and counting. Dr. Ahmed previously served as deputy Director General of Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in Rabat, Morocco. There, he was responsible for the Directorates of Education, Science, Culture and Communication, ICPSR, CPID (Planning and Strategic Division) and ISESCO regional centers.
CEO Roots Millennium
Mr. Mushtaq is an educationist and social entrepreneur. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Roots Millennium Schools and is the Executive Director and member of the Board of Directors of Roots School System, Pakistan.
He is recognized as one of the 500 most influential Muslims of the world and sits on the board of several international non-profit organizations. He is also the Chair of the China Radio International Roots Confucius Classroom Project in Pakistan.
Mr. Mushtaq also serves as the founder and CEO of a non-profit organisation ‘Change – in Education Foundation’ that works to support ‘Public Private Partnerships’ across education and in alignment with the UN’s Millennium Development Goals. So far, he has successfully reformed more than 250 government schools across various districts, provinces and rural communities in Pakistan.
Mr. Mushtaq has been conferred with the prestigious National Civil Award of ‘Tamgha-e-Imtiaz’ in recognition of his outstanding services in the field of language promotion, education, literacy, youth and advocacy.

Mr. Khan is an internationally renowned Investment Banker, Entrepreneur and Capital Markets Advisor. He was the youngest Chairman and Founder of an investment bank in America and the first Muslim to have owned an investment bank on Wall Street. He also successfully founded and served as the Chairman of The Financial Group Inc., which served as an adviser to the Government of Pakistan.

Mr. Tareen is a Pakistani politician and an industrialist who is currently the Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Previously, he was the Federal Minister of Industries, Production and Special Initiatives between September 2004 to February 2008 as part of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) government.
He started his career as a lecturer in a government college before embarking on a journey to become an exemplary entrepreneur. Today, he owns several sugar mills including, Pakistan’s largest and most successful Jamal Din Wala Sugar mills as well as United Sugar Mill. In 2010, he was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his outstanding business achievements. He was also elected to the National Assembly in August 2013 from Islamabad.
Executive Director, LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship
Mr. Zafar has played a large role in the development of the Pakistani technology industry. He is currently the executive director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at LUMS in Lahore.
He is also a visiting faculty member of LUMS, an agricultural investor and a stock market enthusiast. Previously he served as the Chief Information officer for the Lahore Stock Exchange, where he continues to serve as an adviser. He is also a senior policy adviser to the Government of Punjab.
Mr. Zafar also supports several startups and is a part of Plan9, an incubator backed by the Government of Punjab.
Owner at Pappasallis
Zeenat khan ( popularly known by her moniker Gina) has a bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Management. She is the owner of Pappasallis located in Islamabad. It is one of the oldest restaurant of Islamabad but still serves one of the best Italian food.
The story of Pappasallis begins years before its conception in 1989. As a young BA graduate from Kinnaird College, she wanted to pursue further studies abroad, but since it was uncommon for girls at the time to do so, she avowed to earn her own money.
She is all about making her restaurant socially conscious. She is currently the president of Development in Literacy (DIL) Islamabad Chapter, supporter of Umeed-e-Noor and the SOS Village. The restaurant supports many cultural activities especially young theater groups and holding talks on young business entrepreneurships in Pakistan.

Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi, H.I., S.I, is the Founder Rector of the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Pakistan’s first exclusive institute of information technology. Haji Muhammad Naeem belongs from a religious and landlord family of Gojra, Toba Tek Singh. He started the first Savour Foods restaurant with the support of his family in the year 1988. It was a small restaurant in a small shop near Gordon College, Rawalpindi. The restaurant comprised of a very small kitchen and a sitting area with about 20 chairs in it. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is a Pakistani entrepreneur, electrical engineer, currently serving Federal Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources of Pakistan and a politician. He served as the Federal Minister for Commerce in 2008.
